What is known about (Francizeck) Frank Tokarz

Born Franciszek Tokarz and according to his Naturalization record (#P-62577), he was born Nov 1, 1879 in Poland. His death certificate states he was born at Nowy Sach, Poland. It is unknown who provided the information for his death certificate. I am assuming it was his wife, Sophia. The death Certificate also lists as his father a "Stanley Tokarz" and mother as Josephine Flelyre (?). I can't verify the parental information. The handwriting on the certificate is very poor. Joseph's Delayed Record of Birth, however, lists Franciszeck as being born in Baily Szach, Poland. The Delayed Record was created in 1974 so memory might be flawed.

According to Naturalization records, Frank arrived in the US Feb 2, 1905. I have been unable to locate ship records. He had a sister, known as "Aunt Caroline" that may have traveled with him. I am unable to verify that, however.

Frank and Sophia met in Chicago and married January 20, 1907 by Thomas Bobel, a Catholic Priest most likely at the St John of God Catholic Church, which is where the family attended for many years. The certificate number is #449978 and the names on the certificate read Zophie Warzecka and Franciszek Tokasz. The ages of Frank and Sophia are listed at 26 and 22 respectively.

He lived in two homes; 4500 & Justine, Chicago (Polish community) and W. 918 53rd, Chicago. The last address was the family's permenant address, which was in a primarily Irish community. Together he and Sophia had 8 children, all spaced about 2 yrs apart. Frank was naturalized in the US Nov 20, 1925. Frank worked at a manufacturing company by the name of Crane & Company. It produced household items.

Frank died Feb 1, 1942 from Pulmonary Tuberculosis in the Chicago Municipal Sanitarium. According to cemetary records he was burried on April 2, 1942 at 60 years old. I visted Ressurection Catholic Cemetary in 1999 in Justice, Ill (a suburb of Chicago) and viewed his headstone. It reads "Francizeck Tokarz). It is located in secton 31, lot 205.

Pictures will be forth coming
