What is Known about Joseph Tokarz

Born Jozef Tokarz on Dec 20,1910, Joseph was the third child of Frank and Sophie Tokarz.

Joseph worked as printer at teh Chicago Sun Times, and later retired from there.

He married a woman known as "Burnadette" or "Bernnie" by the family. St John of God records have her name listed at "Mary Goer" were married on June 24, 1944. From interviews with Josephine, it seems that Bernie grew up in the same neighborhood with the rest of the family and was friends with her sister Mary. Aside from Joseph and Mary, the rest of the family apparently didn't care for Bernie much. Bernie passed away at a young age. They had one son together, Joseph Jr.

Joseph later got remarried to Jean H. Letkuc (may have been her previous married name) on July 27, 1974 at St. Fabian, Bridgeview, Ill. However, Jean gave the information on his death certificate listing her name as Jean Szparkowski.

Joseph spent some time at the Chicago Sanitarium with a TB infection, along with his father, who later died from the TB.

Joseph died Sept 6, 1977 in Chicago at the age of 66 from Caridovasular Disease according to his death certificate. He was buried in Guess of Heaven Cemetary in Hillside, Illinois on Sept 9, 1977.

At the time of his death he is listed as having lived at 390 Oak Lane, Justice, Illinois.
